Naoshima Town in Kagawa Prefecture (Mayor: Shinichi Kobayashi) has been actively displaying a series of cartoons in educational settings to help counteract COVID-19. The cartoons were published by Smart119 Corporation (Head office: Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture; President/CEO: Taka-aki Nakada), which introduces specialized knowledge in an easy-to-understand manner, mainly in the area of emergency medical care. We have recently introduced a new version specifically for the local community to meet the local situation.
Naoshima Town in Kagawa Prefecture is a mecca of Japanese contemporary art with numerous facilities and exhibitions such as the Chichu Art Museum, Lee Ufan Museum, and Benesse House Museum in a beautiful location surrounded by the Seto Inland Sea. Although it is an active community with a large number of young people, it is difficult to get advanced medical care on the island, so we are actively working on countermeasures against Covid-19.
A series of illustrations calling for countermeasures against Covid-19, created by Smart119 Inc., which develops and operates the emergency medical support system "Smart119," is being used at educational institutions and public agencies in Naoshima Town by displaying posters and distributing flyers.
In response to a request from the town of Naoshima: "As a remote island, there is no 119 number or ambulance service on the island, so can't you make a new version that is more suitable for this situation?"
We have made a new version and offered it for Naoshima Town. This document can be freely used by any school, company, or public institution to print posters and handouts.
