Smart ACES was featured in the January 20, 2021 issue of the Kyushu Medical Journal.
The newly launched "Smart ACES" is capable of automatically convening a gathering using e-mail, LINE, and LINEWORKS. The system can quickly and efficiently gather medical staff, and is expected to reduce the number of emergency patients who are rejected for transport.
To use Smart ACES, all you need is a smartphone or a hospital PC, and there is no need to install a new dedicated terminal. Hospitals can call out to their staff all at once and gather the necessary number of staff without wasting time, and in addition to one-way communication from the hospital side, staff can also send information on their arrival time. In the event of a disaster, the system can also be used for safety confirmation.
This system has been patented (No. 6166114), and its effectiveness has been reported in papers.

◆Point 1: How to work to reduce the spread of infection
1) Work assignments.
・Work assignments: Follow the rules of when you should not go to work.
×When you are ill
×When you are positive for COVID-19
×When it is within 14 days after having contact with a COVID-19 positive person
・Create an environment where employees can take a sick leave from work or leave early when needed
-Perform daily physical condition checks
-Skill training preparing for sick leaves
・Adjustment of shifts to avoid overcrowding
-Adjust shifts so that the number of staff in the store at the same time is not too large.
・Protect high-risk employees
-Put older employees or those with underlying medical conditions in backyards or other locations with less exposure
2) Hygiene management during work
・Wash hands carefully
-Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
-Wash hands before and after preparation of food, and after touching garbage.
・Disinfection and cleaning to avoid infection
◎Cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched items
◎Schedule for more frequent cleaning
◎Use of masks by all employees
◎Close shared lounges for breaks as much as possible
◆Point 2: Organizing the space in a way that reduces the spread of infection
1) Let's check inside the store
・Are cleaning and ventilation equipments installed and functioning?
-Hand washing stations
-Foot pedal type trash cans
-Ventilation equipment
・Do you have enough hygiene equipment?
-Disinfectant
-Hand soap
-Products for hand wipes
-Tissues
-Mask
2) Ideas to avoid denseness
・Keep tables at least 2 meters apart.
・Set up a partition to prevent droplets from spreading
・Set up a 2m guide on the floor of the waiting line
・A system to avoid crowded waiting lines (app, numbers, etc.)
・Take-away service
・Drive-through service
・Installation of outdoor seatings
3) Ideas to avoid infection through objects
・Cashless payment
・Use of trays when exchanging cash and credit cards
・Use of disposable items (dishes, napkins, etc.)

We have created and published a new etiquette guide on how to use restaurants in the COVID-19 disaster and why it is important. A single illustration covers preventive measures such as "wearing a mask" and "keeping conversations moderate or in low voice", and this can be freely used by schools, companies, public institutions, etc. for printing as posters or handouts.

◆Countermeasures against COVID-19 in restaurants (Why it is important?)
・Why? - wearing a mask
Because it can reduce the risk of infection at close range and airborne infection.
It is useful when it is difficult to secure approximately 2 meters distance.
COVID-19 can infect people even when they are asymptomatic, so be alert and wear a mask properly.
・Why? - Hand washing and disinfection of surfaces of objects
This is because respiratory droplets can adhere to the surface of objects, and there is a high possibility that they can be transmitted from hands that touch the surface to the eyes, nose, and mouth.
・Why? - Monitoring of body condition such as taking temperature
One of the symptoms of COVID-19 is fever.
The need of taking temperature is because it is necessary to contact a medical institution if infection is suspected, and to seek medical attention immediately if symptoms are urgent.
・Why? - Moderate or whispered conversation during meals
This is to reduce the respiratory droplets generated by conversation.
Inhalation of the droplets and adhesion to mucous membranes can lead to infection.
If there is a need to speak loudly, wear a mask!
・Why? Reduce the number of seats & do not share the table.
This is to ensure a distance of at least 2 meters.
COVID-19 is thought to spread mainly between people who are within about 2 meters of each other.
This is the same reason why people should avoid sitting face-to-face.
・Why? Recommendations for food delivery, takeaway, etc.
The risk of infection can be reduced by reducing the time and opportunities to come into contact with infected individuals.
・Don't pass around food and drinks
There is a risk of catching the virus through the saliva of an infected person.
It is not recommended to share things because it also increases the risk of infection from hands.
◆What is important
Moderate conversation while eating and drinking, and use a mask when talking!
◆Things that are recommended to be used actively, if possible
・Alcohol and other disinfectants
・Hand washing facilities
・Cashless payment
・Change trays
・Disposable items such as gloves
